My family and I would like to start off by thanking all those who’ve been faithful praying for us, as well as supporting our ministry this year and a half. We’ve seen God bless in the good times as well as in some of the tougher times in the ministry, and it has been an encouragement to know that so many of you have kept us in your prayers this whole time. We are excited to announce that your prayers have not been in vain! God has been working in the life of our church and has really impressed upon our hearts about the need to pray for our own facility to meet in. Up to this point, Christway has been holding services in the fellowship hall of the East Pasco Seventh Day Adventist Church. While this facility has served it’s purpose up to this point, it has increasingly become an obstacle for first time as well as returning guests.
While we have remained open to the idea of renting another facility, it seems as though the Lord has other plans for this congregation. A church building has recently become available on 4th Ave which is right in downtown Zephyrhills. It is 2,800 square feet and would more than accommodate the needs of Christway Baptist Church. After much prayer and counsel, we feel led to pursue this wonderful endeavor.
Christway asks you to prayerfully consider being part of this Miracle on 4th Ave by helping us raise the money needed to aquire this facility. After seeking pastoral counsel, and after a time of negotiations, they finally agreed to our cash offer of $162,000 (which is $12,000 less than they were originally asking). We have a closing date of February 15th, and they want the money 15 days prior to closing. This may sound impossible for us to accomplish, but one thing I have learned during my brief stent as pastor is . . . it is much more exciting to live by faith than to place human limitations on God.
God is already opening the doors for some of our supporting churches to get behind this endeavor and we are excited about the opportunity to see a few more get involved. Although we only heard about this facility just a couple of weeks ago, we already have $5,000 going towards the purchase of this building. We believe God is in this opportunity and this church building would open the doors for even more opportunities to reach the community, and have a more established place of worship for the Christway Baptist Church family.
We also, would like to ask your prayers for my wife Jolean. We knew 2017 was going to be an exciting year, but little did we know just how exciting it would be. Along with a new church building, God has decided to bless the Coffman family with another child. Some would say we are crazy for having 5 children, we just say we are trying to grow the church (sorry for the church planting humor). Please keep her in your prayers and please pray for the health of the baby.
We look forward to keeping you updated concerning the church building and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
